In the financial account, a plus sign denotes an increase in investment and a minus sign denotes a decrease in investment. The direct investment flows abroad are classified according to the industrial classification of the Canadian investor company, and not the company abroad that employs this capital. This combines the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes 21 and 22. This combines the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes 41, 44, 45, 48 and 49. This combines the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes 11, 23, 51, 53, 54, 56, 61, 62, 71, 72, 81 and 91.
