Miscellaneous minerals includes copper, nickel, lead and zinc ore mining (North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 21223), molybdenum, uranium and diamonds (starting in 1998). The values presented in method I are based on a present value calculation that assumes a positive return to capital (present value I). The values presented in method II are based on a present value calculation that assumes a zero return to capital (present value II). Negative values for net price I, net price II and present value are set to zero. The reconciliation account entries are calculated using the present value methodology. Asset valuations for conventional crude oil and natural gas were combined in order to harmonise with industry expenditure and investment reporting that reflects the integrated nature of oil and gas field and well operations.
